Clay embarked on his journey in the drilling industry in early 2005, rising through the ranks from a hands-on driller to a skilled supervisor. His dedication and expertise eventually propelled him into leadership roles, culminating in his current position as General Manager of Strike Drilling, where he continues to drive innovation and excellence in the field.
Michael Irvine
Operations Manager
With 15 years of experience in the drilling industry, Michael has honed his expertise and leadership skills to oversee the operations of 19 Strike Drilling rigs and their crews across Australia. His commitment to excellence ensures seamless coordination and top-tier performance in every project. Michael is currently completing his Advanced Diploma in Drilling Management.
James Sterling
Risk and Compliance Advisor
James grew up in regional NSW and relocated to WA at the commencement of his drilling career a decade ago. Since joining Strike Drilling in 2018, he quickly advanced from driller to supervisor and most recently to the role of Risk and Compliance Advisor in 2025. James' dedication to promoting safe work practices, both on and off the drill rig, makes him an asset to the team. James recently completed his Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
